You need to add the label of the CD-ROM (assuming your CD-ROM lies in drive D:): mount d d: -t cdrom -label BATTLEISLE2 Now the computer will be weak as usual. No problems so far. (2004-01-20 17:06) MiniMax Important: Get the CD-ROM drive right! It can be confusing because the INSTALL program defaults the CD-ROM drive to just 'D:'. But on my CD-ROM (a 1998 edition), the Battle Isle 2 proper is not in the top-level directory (D: ) - it is in 'D: BI2'. So set the drive to 'D: BI2' (or whereever your game proper is), and you should be all set. Alternatively, use a text editor and edit entry no.

Please help us forget fundraising and get back to Abandonia. Battle Isle 2, the successor to the famous first part, is a truly unique strategy game. The designers combined the good parts of the predecessor with a brand new warfare concept.
Whereas in the first game you could either move your units or attack in a turn, you can do both things in the same turn in this game. This brings new tactics and strategies and was adopted in many later games. When it came out in 1994, Battle Isle 2 was one of the first games which used this method of round-based combat, so at that time it was revolutionary.
As for the story: It continues where the first part ended. After you finished the game, a Drull spaceship (these are the good guys) comes for you and takes you to their planet which is under attack by Titan Net. You are the chosen one, who shall lead the army of the Drulls to victory.
After the intro which tells the story described above, you are thrown straight into the first mission of the main campaign which comprises twenty-four battles. The battles get tougher and tougher as you move towards your goal to defeat Titan Net. The maps are well made, but later missions become very hard to win, even on lower difficulty levels. The strategic aspect of the game is superb; it has tons of units, from infantry robots through tanks and planes to huge battleships, each with different attributes and weapons systems, making most of them vital for the game, so you will have to use most of them to achieve victory. Many units have more than one weapon, which gives you even more flexibility when using them. Another good thing is that units gain experience, which does make a difference in this game, as veteran units get huge bonuses and can often hold off more powerful but inexperienced units. The map also has strategic value, as the weather and the terrain will have an impact on your tactics.
The graphics looked very good at the time of release, but today the best word to describe them would be 'functional', although the handpainted maps and the rendered units between the battles still look good. The music and sound effects are also nothing special. The user interface is quite easy to use once you have got the hang of it - but that will take some time, as it is a bit unconventional. Camo and krooked youtube. I would rate the game at 4, as it is very good, but too difficult for Joe Gamer, who will become frustrated after some missions. Battle Isle 2 is truly one of the best strategy games of the era, though one of the most difficult ones. If you have tons of free time and like a challenge, you should try defeating Titan Net.
Part of the Battle Isle series.
Battle Isle Platinium is pure strategy combined with a compelling backstory. Consisting of the first four installments of the series, it offers the opportunity to play and experience a huge chunk of Battle Isle history, from the very beginnings on up to the events on Scayra, the colonial planet of Chromos – a planet so distant and yet so similar to Earth. The history of the Kais and the Drulls is one comprised of only a few Chromian centuries, but centuries with one war following the other, with destruction and upheaval determining the development of Chromian society.
Batlle Isle 2 is a sequel to the sci fi strategy game and second in the Battle Isle series but with some major changes, and for the better, it should seem. Firstly, differently from the original, you have the entire screen to navigate in, instead it being divided into two parts, merged move and attack phases to make the game go more smoothly, and introduced the 3-D display of combat, making the visual experience a lot better. The controls are also simplified, so the game is easier to play. The game is somewhat more challenging, thanks to the nicely programmed AI, but if you want, with passwords you can play against another human for more fun gameplay. The game has nice and better graphics than the last game, and there is not much music and sound going on, but what is there, sound pretty decent.
The 3D combat view is also a very nice sight. This is one of the easiest game in the series, in terms of gameplay, and also one of the more challenging ones. So, to sum it up, this is a very nice and fun continuation of the game, and a welcome change. Strategy lovers will get their fill of fun and challenge, and it's a very nice game for beginners, too, since the game is pretty simple to figure out and play. Highly recommended.
Battle Isle 2 Cheat Codes
Battle Isle is a futuristic tactical wargame, the start of the series and a predecessor to History Line (a.k.a. The Great War). In fact, players of History Lines will be able to pick this game up in five minutes, because not much was updated for the WWI game.
A lot of the information contained in the review of The Great War also applies here. The age of the game shows when you start it. First, it will run in Windows in a DOS shell, but if your PC has a screen saver or power off feature, and you come back to your computer, the graphics get all messed up. Either don't leave your computer or play the game in pure DOS. There is no sound, and there is no mouse support. The manual suggests a joystick, so if you have one that works in DOS, great! Otherwise, you'll just have to use the keyboard.
On the main menu, you can start a campaign (only one is available) or enter a map code to 'jump' ahead to where you were. You can play against the AI, which is average for its day and age, or another human. Basically, player 1 plays on the left side of the screen and player 2 on the right. Each turn has two phases, Move and Attack.
You give orders by moving the icon over your unit, holding down the 'fire' button, and pressing the arrow key or moving the joystick in the direction that you want - each one has a different command. This interface is hard enough with a mouse - with a keyboard, its slow and hard to get used to. Graphics are simple VGA shapes, although there is clear detail on what is what. The game has longer replay value if you play against another human, but against the AI, once you beat the game, there is little incentive to go back to. One difference between this game and later ones from Blue Byte is that you gain energy in the form of crystals on the map, which you can to build new units or repair your current ones. This makes the game a little easier as opposed to later Battle Isle games.
Blue Byte deserves credit for making one of the first accessible, realistic tactical wargames. However, between the average game play, awful controls, and fair AI, this is a game that has not aged well. New players interested in checking out Blue Byte games should start with Battle Isle II or History Line, which are much better games.
Only true wargame fans or people interested in seeing how the series started will probably want to play Battle Isle. Review By HOTUD Don't miss the add-on, which add 24 new AI maps, 8 new 2 players maps and two new landscape types, ice and desert. Battle Isle has an addon available:, don't miss it!
